Can it be utter coincidence that Siik (as in siik.org) is just a three-letter hop from silk? In light of this luxurious remix of the Rich Harrison smash, probably not. Resist the urge to call it "summery"; the song sounds great in the first place, but Siik's hypermelodic rejiggering will heat up frigid flats like an ancient port come December, too.

The original drew attention for its overpowering, go-go-influenced rhythm; some still don't believe it's not actually "Crazy in Love". But Siik saw in it something most of us missed: Atop the blustery beat and wasabi-spiked guitar chords, Amerie belts something ridiculous. So he pillow-backs her vox in movie-reel strings and a gorgeously gushy guitar line, and we get suppleness. I smile like an idiot every time I hear it.

ngl i was really gassed. my thanks to everyone who listened, posted, ty to nujabes
