zoom was off the bulworth soundtrack. i remember catching some of it off some movie channel.. warren beatty’s raps were super cringeworthy. i do remember the soundtrack way more though, and how ghetto superstar got SUUPER played out that particular summer. yuck. interesting – doing some research after i made this remix and i find this youtube, an unreleased version of zoom that has snoop in place of ll, and dawn robinson added in the mix as well. not too sure about her en vogue verses. but i also remember finding out recently that dawn robinson was on the hook on firm biz because i had seen the video for the first time. man its a sick vid though. anyway, digressing – the beat is a slum village track.
you got the ear man, I’m feelin your style. I remember a while back I made a mix using a nujabes beat with A. Keys’ “You Don’t Know My Name’…coincidentally I run into one of your mixes and you’ve come up with the same idea (except mine had some of Common’s raps).
Ever since then I’ve been checking your mixes and you’ve consistently delivered so I had to show some love.
Since we both like to mix, I’d appreciate it if you check some of my mixes out…they’re not as refined as yours are and I admit I need some constructive criticism to get better so check some out. Here’s a link to my most recent one.
