when i first heard robin thicke it took me a few weeks to realize that his dad is alan thicke. my friend was saying that she heard that he’s being touted as better than jt, but i’m not so sure about that - he’s good and all, but jt is much better panty wetter. and he’s funny too. and he’s so over having a boy moustache, which apparently robin thicke isn’t. i havent given his cd a real good listen yet, just skipped a few tracks at work, and it ain’t bad. the beat is towa tei - let me know, which is a beautiful song as well. this blend is also summery.
janet jackson’s probably one of my favorite artists of all time - and i base this on the fact that rhythm nation was the first cd i owned. i was like five years old and it was all the rage at school. the music video was the craziest thing i’d ever seen; before mtv got super popular (and before i had cable) my uncle, who was a jackson fanatic both michael and janet, would buy the legit vhs tapes with music videos on em, and i’d watch the rhythm nation video a lot. of course, i’d watch the thriller video a whole lot more, but that’s just a given.

(and most likely a few other allure tracks?) you can hear her pretty well. but since i upped the pitch it might be harder to catch. they’re both over automator beats, because those are very sexy and i’m feelin em right now. i really dig the original allure track and also the remix which totally flips it. whatever happened to trackmasters remixes?
i guess i just got really excited when school was done, cuz i’ve been pretty much mixing shit nonstop since. and i seriously wish there was a version of dick in a box without the laugh track. i can’t even express how much the song rules, just production-wise. not to mention how jt’s skits on snl are usually great - he’s a natural entertainer, doesn’t matter what he’s doing. but i digress.. this remix is, well, to quote a few people that i let listen beforehand, ‘whoa’. it’s very different. and i dig it a lot. as i was making it i was paying more attention to the lyrics, and i just realized he’s singing about marriage- seems kinda more fitting now, no? i dunno if you wanna get married and have that song(the original my love) playing instead of canon in d. but maybe this one will. the orig is m-flo - let go.

uh oh, putting off (tons of) classwork/projects to do more remix/mashup shit instead? idunno. its a good way of procrastinating, but i’m probably gonna bite it in the end. this is week ten, and i have roughly 2.5 weeks to finish a sick animation in cinema4d and i’m about 30% done. i’m having problems with expresso(a coding logic in c4d, think actionscript) and ugh. fuck it. this is ciara on some bent and it’s really funky. i enjoy it a lot. i’m feeling on a roll lately.
i slept on putting the promiscuous remix out here for a while. i’m pretty much over the song. i was just talking to my buddy huph about this, that the song is so played but still pretty masterfully done by timbo. i fear that jt’s my love will run into the same fate. the maneater one i like more, but probably because i only recently finished it. nelly - do it is probably the hottest track on her cd though.

if you haven’t noticed already, i’m somewhat obsessed with 90’s r&b. the end. i always liked this song and the video was hot, except for the girl in the bathroom who looked like scottie pippen. around the time this was popular i must have been in ninth grade, the whole ‘dancing too close’ was still so immature/funny to us, like as funny as looking up the word penis in the dictionary. good times.
