crate diggin

what you know about mashups? i can say that i’ve been interested in them for a way way long time. when i was a kid my cousin used to have these dj rectangle tapes that had the most sickest blends(still are to this day, if you can find some old rec stuff it’s highly recommended) and it didn’t take a genius to figure out that the ingredients to that were a sick acapella and a sick instrumental. i started messing with cooledit and mixmeister when i was like fourteen or fifteenish. back then it was all about rawkus/underground shit, so i didn’t do many r&b-esque mashes then. all i had to go on was cooledit loops and my ear, i wasn’t even really cognizant of the whole notion of bpm yet, i just tried to do it as best as it sounded. although i’m missing a few older ones i know i made, these should be enough for yall to see siik in beta form. peep them at /old. (and yes i redid that busta one - it sounded too good)
i’d also just like to thank everyone who’s been comin back. yall are great peoples and i do it for you. and if ya don’t know, i like to drop tracks on my myspace that i won’t put here - so keep posted on that as well. cuz i’m a myspace ho. nappy headed.
