so while i’ve been sick (i’m okay now sorta, i still got a cough) i’ve been spending lots of time playing wow and watching the wire. while i won’t go into detail about the first part because it’s too nerdy, i will go in detail about the wire because it’s amazing. i watched seasons 1 and 2 earlier this year and was definitely hooked. season 3 was off and on during the semester, and i marathoned 4 and 5 last week. there’s already enough praise written about the wire elsewhere so i’ll save my gushing. i’m just saying that i feel guilty for sleeping on it before when it was recommended to me earlier. things i remember per season:
season one - got real sad when kima was shot
season two - wanna punch that dude ziggy in the face
season three - the chick avon sends to marlo is hot
season four - ms duquette is hot
season five - the lying reporter dude is a shitbag and i wanna punch him in the face
so yeah. i sat down for many hours to watch all those. but now i’m working in the day, so i got less time to watch things - namely, the last two lost episodes. gotta catch up soon. also at work since i don’t bring all my mp3s, i’ve been browsing muxtape a lot.. there are too many wack emo muxtapes. its like every twelve i click i will land on something decent. however debbiewayne.muxtape.com has been a favorite this week, loadin it urrday. that harleme love theme is so noir. also good stuff at musikmondaze, vocab, tofubeats (he’s a cool dude)

i’m in a really bbq-y mood right now. back in the day we used to have the at-the-park birthdays with balloons and party favors and nerf footballs and beef on a stick. there would be a whole lot of rice and lumpia too, with the red sauce. though right now, i can’t think of the last time i been to one - or it was probably a real long time ago. anyway. i must do that this summer. my cousin’s havin a baby in june, which hopefully means a resurgence in park birthdays. but even if not, as long as they got a moon jump at the pad, i’m happy. i’ll never get too old for those.

also as i woke up today (hella sick, man bein sick like literally is so GAY) and was looking at the site, i think that the whole digg thing is going about it all wrong. it’s hard to get someone to vote up on things - hell i won’t even do it. i’ll have to leave it to my own discretion, and condense the remixes page totally - keep only the bangers on it, and the other stuff can be in a leftovers page or something. i know for sure though that once all the albumart is done for each remix, it’ll look better when i display them on the page. like a grid of thumbnails and shit. k i’m totally nerdin out.
in an effort to make this site more user friendly, i’ve added a digg-like voting click thing apparatus to all the entries that i have categorized for remixes. if you’ve got time, just run through the archive and start clicking the ones you think are exceptionally hot. and don’t click all of them, because i know for sure there are some of these that aren’t the hottest. (can’t all be winners!) hopefully i’ll find some way to organize the entries by most voted, or atleast show the top rated ones. this should alleviate the god-awful ‘the remixes’ page on the left bar, because it is quite the ugly looking currently.
another thing: as i was looking through my friends itouch, i realized i have no albumart. i’m not much of an itunes user so i never looked into it, but damn - it makes it look way cooler. i’ll get on that soon enough. (oof, making albumart for each remix + mix? thatll take a while)

uh huh. like ive explained before, i live my life fourteen weeks at a time - that’s how long my terms are, and then i get three weeks of break to do something else, and then back to the grind. i just finished my seventh term, and i’m set to graduate eighth term - but since i don’t feel like i have enough ’stuff’ to show off yet, im taking this summer off to work some more and just do my own thing. which hopefully means more updating here.
i was just looking through the entries lately and i just realized i never told yall that i was on vacation for the winter. from christmas to early january i was in the philippines straight chillin (not really because it was hot and humid) out. did the whole mallrat thing, ate fried rice breakfast every morning, visited backways and alleyways, walked along the boracay beach, sat in never-ending traffic, and watched lots of southeast asian tv. good times. i took hella pictures (actually the trip was the sole reason i bought a 10d) and you can find them here.
this summer i plan on doing some more travelling as well, as a high school friend of mine is going to get married in taiwan and i’m a groomsman - so i’m heading out there for tenish days. i also might be visiting my aunt in cambodia around then too, since, i’m like already in the area. and since i haven’t been to new york yet, i’d wanna do that while i’m on my break. who knowsss. but as for traveling in the near future, i think i’m heading to the bay in a few weeks. i was told that calling it ‘frisco’ is strictly for lames.
indescribable feeling
here’s a mix i made august of last year but never got to putting it out. i think my reasoning was that i didn’t enjoy it at the time, volumes were jumpy on the tracks, and when i’m already doubting like that i usually just dump and never upload it. but recently i’ve had it on my ipod and it’s good stuff. dunno why i even hesitated. most of the mix mirrors a live set i was doing at a friends party. enjoy.
